Los Angeles Chargers

All signs are pointing to the Philip Rivers era being over in Los Angeles.

That’s probably for the best, as 2019 was arguably Rivers’ worst as a pro. His age really started to show this year, and he might not have what it takes to be a starter anymore.

That leaves the Chargers with Tyrod Taylor and Easton Stick at quarterback — not ideal — and without a top-five pick, the Chargers most likely won’t be in a position to draft Burrow or Tua Tagovailoa.

Justin Herbert will most likely be available for the Chargers, but might they prefer another Oregon quarterback instead? This is another destination that puts Marcus back on the west coast. And unlike Seattle, the Chargers quarterback job is wide open.

I do believe Mariota is better than Taylor, and at the least he provides youth and could break out in a change of scenery. Like the Bears, the Chargers have a talented roster and simply need consistent quarterabck play.

With a west coast location, and an opportunity to start, LA should check all the boxes for Marcus Mariota.
