Seattle Seahawks

I’ll start this one off by saying: No, Marcus Mariota would not have a chance to start in Seattle.

Although, I believe Marcus would be very interested if the Seahawks came calling. The Seahawks are a run-first offense and Russell Wilson is a mobile quarterback. If Russ were to miss a game, Mariota would be a superb fill-in for that offense.

Outside of the football sense it makes, Seattle’s location also makes sense.

Not only would Marcus be much closer to home, he would also be very close to Eugene, Oregon, where he still trains in the offseason. I believe the appeal of the location, along with the stability of the front office and coaching staff would make Seattle a great destination for him.

However, none of this matters if Marcus cares about being a starter. Barring injury, Wilson will continue to be the starter of this team for a long time. And rightfully so, as he’s been a top-five quarterback for a few years now.

If Marcus Mariota is fine being a backup, Seattle has many positives.
