G Nate Davis

Final rookie grade: B-

Titans rookie guard Nate Davis had a very up and down rookie year. He missed the first couple of weeks of the season due to injuries and then was a complete liability once he finally made his return to the field in a Week 4 victory in Atlanta.

Davis was hit with a harsh reality check that this was no longer Conference USA football during the Buffalo and Denver games, as Davis struggled mightily against both teams’ front sevens.

However, as the year progressed, so did Davis. The former University of Charlotte standout began to transition from a liability to an asset as the weeks passed and eventually became a force come playoff time.

Davis hit his stride at the right time and did his part to help Derrick Henry go bananas in the postseason. Although Davis did play well, it is too early to know whether the team will try and upgrade the offensive line going into 2020.

The team already has some big decisions to make on the offensive line come free agency, especially at the right tackle position.

However, if the team decides to keep Jack Conklin as some expect, there’s a slim chance that Davis may be the odd man out of the starting lineup should they decide to try and make an upgrade via free agency or the 2020 NFL Draft.

Nonetheless, Davis’ play down the stretch should give everyone confidence that he’s willing and able to perform well if and when needed in 2020.
