How Tennessee Titans can reach double-digit wins in 2020

Bring back Tannehill and Henry

One of the biggest obstacles the Titans will face this offseason will be navigating free agency. With many of Tennessee’s established stars hitting the open market, it will be important to keep as much of this conference championship-caliber roster in two-toned blue as possible.

Two key pieces of the offense in Tannehill and Henry will both be negotiating new contracts. There is sure to be interest in the Pro Bowl quarterback and the NFL’s rushing leader, but keeping both players in Nashville should be a priority for Jon Robinson.

Despite an underwhelming career in Miami, Tannehill showed that he can thrive with Smith’s scheme and general manager Jon Robinson’s roster. He ranked towards the top of the league in both completion percentage and yards per attempt, leading the team to a 7-3 record in his ten regular season starts with the Titans.

For Henry, his stats and performance speaks for itself. The fourth-year running back won the rushing title this season with room to spare, despite missing a game. Henry nearly single-handedly dragged Tennessee on their playoff run, and at just 26 years old, there’s reason to think he could do it again.

Even if some regression on the part of Tannehill or Henry is coming up, the skill and consistency each of them brings to the table is too great to ignore. The two players were the heart of an offense that was 11 points away from playing for a Super Bowl, and Tennessee would be wise to bring them back.
