Quarterback Ryan Tannehill spoke about his future with the Tennessee Titans following the season-ending loss to the Kansas City Chiefs.

With the Tennessee Titans’ season coming to an end following a 35-24 loss to the Kansas City Chiefs in the AFC Championship Game, quarterback Ryan Tannehill is set to become a free agent this offseason.

Tannehill, who was acquired in a trade with the Miami Dolphins after the 2018 campaign, was instrumental in turning the Titans’ season around after a 2-4 start.

He finished the regular season with 2,742 yards, with 22 touchdowns to six picks, while also adding four rushing touchdowns. Tannehill ranked first in the NFL in passer rating (117.5) and third in completion percentage (70.3).

The Titans’ season may have ended before reaching the Super Bowl, but there’s no doubt this team accomplished more than anyone could have imagined. Tannehill provided the kind of spark this team badly needed, as helped take the team’s offense to new heights in 2019.

When asked about his future after the game, Tannehill expressed his love for the team and his teammates, per Terry McCormick of Titan Insider.

"“I’ll take a step back and look at things here in the offseason, obviously. I love this team, I love what this team was able to accomplish. A lot of love for the guys on this team and love playing with them, so I will take a step back and take a look at that, but right now just really can’t think of anything but how close we were and this loss.”"

It’s almost a certainty the Titans will bring Tannehill back after he provided the answer the franchise was looking for under center.

The tricky part will be working out an agreement on a new contract, and there could be competition for his services. Tennessee does have the option of using the franchise tag on Tannehill in order to avoid him talking to other teams, though.

According to Spotrac, Tannehill’s market value could net him a four-year deal worth a little over $122 million, which would work out to an annual average salary of $30.5 million.
