Improved pass rush

This may be a little bit controversial, but I don’t think so. Cameron Wake was a nice shot in the arm for the Titans pass rush and he put pressure on opposing offensive tackles, so losing him was unfortunate.

However, in the last month the Titans have been lucky to find the UDFA Derick Roberson and an improved Kamalei Correa opposite Harold Landry. In addition to the four sacks in four games from Casey, the two EDGEs have combined for five sacks in the last four while never being on the field at the same time.

The recent uptick in production coincided with the Titans adding Tramaine Brock in the defensive backfield. Not only that, but Adoree Jackson’s return for the first round of the playoffs was big for this pass rush and the healthier he gets the more this defensive unit does.

While the Titans didn’t find a 10 sack player hidden on their depth chart or anything, they have figured out life without Malcolm Butler which is something they struggled with (Butler was injured the week before the last KC game).

Those adjustments along with some fine tuning on figuring out who to use and when, makes this defense better than the last time these teams met.
