Healthy secondary is making a difference

During the first half of the season, the Titans were in the conversation for best defense in the NFL. It took eight weeks for any offense to score more than 20 on them and they seemed destined to once again be the unit that was going to carry this 2019 Titans team.

However, the injury bug grabbed a hold of this defense and turned what was once a strength into a complete liability. The secondary in Particular got extremely thin at one point In the season with Malcolm Butler, Adoree’ Jackson, and LeShaun Sims all getting banged up at the same time.

This led the team to put in a claim for Arizona Cardinals castoff Tramaine Brock. The saying ‘one man’s trash is another man’s treasure’ couldn’t be more accurate in this situation, as Brock has been an extremely valuable asset to this team.

The addition of Brock ,along with the fact that this secondary has slowly but surely gotten healthier these last few weeks, has made this entire defensive unit return to the form that made them formidable to start the year.

This team has all the potential in the world to beat anyone, on any field, in any conditions. If this Titans defense remains healthy and can continue their strong play while Derrick Henry and the offense continues to roll the way that they are, then this team shouldn’t be counted out against anybody.
