Optimism: Ravens’ extra time off

While a week off can have a lot of benefits for teams that earn a first-round bye in the playoffs, there are times where it can have a negative effect.

As hot as the Ravens have been all season, it’s hard to imagine anything stopping them at this point. However, sometimes extra time off can take a team out of its rhythm, and that should be a concern for Baltimore in this game.

Not only did the Ravens earn a bye through the Wild Card round, they also didn’t play a lot of their best players in the Week 17 game against the Pittsburgh Steelers because Baltimore had already wrapped up its spot atop the AFC.

So in reality some of the Ravens’ best players will have not played in a game since Week 16 when Saturday night rolls around and there is a chance Jackson and Co. will have to shake off some cob webs in the most important game of the season.

There isn’t a lot going in Tennessee’s favor in this game, but this might be one thing that does.
