2. San Francisco 49ers

After a thrilling Week 17 win over the Seahawks locked the Niners into the No. 1 seed in the NFC, Jimmy Garoppolo and Co. got a much-needed first-round bye to rest up for the divisional round.

When at full strength, the Niners have arguably the best defense of the teams left in the playoffs, and they could see the return of linebacker Kwon Alexander, who has a chance to play on Saturday.

That would be a huge boost for a 49ers defense that has looked very exploitable down the stretch of the regular season.

San Fran will meet Minnesota in the divisional round, a team that is riding in with a head of steam after a huge upset win over New Orleans. Working in the Niners’ favor is the fact that the Vikings will have a short week with this game being on Saturday after Minnesota played on Sunday.
