One list had Tennessee Titans quarterback Ryan as the No. 5 player at his position this season, while another ranked Delanie Walker as one of the top tight ends of the decade.

Tennessee Titans quarterback Ryan Tannehill has enjoyed quite the resurgence in his career in 2019, and NFL.com has certainly noticed.

When ranking all the starting quarterbacks in the NFL from this season, NFL.com has ranked Tannehill as the No. 5 QB in the league, tying him with Houston Texans quarterback, Deshaun Watson.

The Titans starter moved up two spots from last week and ahead of guys like Aaron Rodgers, Kirk Cousins and Carson Wentz. Not bad for a quarterback who was basically discarded by the Miami Dolphins after last season.

Before the season started, a lot was made about the Texans being the best team in the AFC South because of how much better their quarterback was than every other team’s, but it appears that gap has closed significantly.

Tannehill has revived his career in Nashville and is now in line to be the starter for the foreseeable future once the Titans can work out a new deal with him. The former No. 8 overall pick should also be the front-runner for NFL Comeback Player of the Year.

Delanie Walker a top 10 TE of the decade

Michael David Smith of Pro Football Talk ranked the best tight ends of the decade, and tight end Delanie Walker rightfully made the list.

According to PFT, Walker is No. 10.

"Made three straight Pro Bowls from 2015 to 2017. Finished the decade ninth among tight ends in catches, 10th in yards and 10th in touchdowns."

He’s in pretty good company, as you’d imagine, and there is another former Titan gracing this list. Here’s a look at the full rankings.

  1. Rob Gronkowski
  2. Jason Witten
  3. Jimmy Graham
  4. Greg Olsen
  5. Antonio Gates
  6. Travis Kelce
  7. Zach Ertz
  8. Vernon Davis
  9. Jared Cook
  10. Delanie Walker

While the order of some of those names are definitely debatable, Walker being on the list is not.

He was consistently one of the best tight ends in the NFL during his tenure in Tennessee and the true star of what had been a lackluster Titans offense for many years. He’s also the last Titans pass-catcher to total 1,000 yards or more in a season, which he did in 2015.

Unfortunately, Walker had a setback on the same ankle he seriously injured in 2018, forcing his 2019 campaign to come to an early end. His future with the Titans remains in doubt for 2020.
