There are reasons for optimism and concern for the Tennessee Titans in Week 17.

The Tennessee Titans and Houston Texans will meet for the regular season finale in Week 17 at NRG Stadium.

The Texans have already clinched their spot in the playoffs after wrapping up the AFC South with a Week 16 win over the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.

Houston can still improve its playoff positioning though, as a win over the Titans and a loss by the Kansas City Chiefs would propel the Texans to the No. 3 seed. A Chiefs victory would automatically put an end to that.

Meanwhile, the Titans are still battling for their playoff lives, but at least they control their own destiny.

Currently sitting in the No. 6 spot, the Titans can clinch a playoff berth via the final wild card spot with a win. Also, Tennessee can still make the playoffs if they lose, but would need help with losses by the Pittsburgh Steelers and Indianapolis Colts.

Tennessee and Houston last met in Week 15 at Nissan Stadium, with the Texans emerging victorious, 24-21.

With everything on the line for the Titans this week, let’s take a look at some reasons for optimism and concern in Week 17.
