team. 32. . 5-9-1. Previous: 27th. Arizona Cardinals. 24

Recap: The Cardinals were supposed to just lay down and lose to a Seahawks team vying for a top seed in the NFC and a division title, but that did not happen. Instead, the Cardinals’ defense played its best football of the 2019 season and Arizona topped the Seahawks, 27-13.

Outlook: Arizona didn’t escape this win unscathed, though. Kyler Murray was forced to leave the game early with a hamstring injury, so we’ll have to keep an eye on that. It’s very possible the Cardinals rest their franchise quarterback for what will be a meaningless Week 17 game against the Rams, with Murray’s rookie season already having been a success.

30. . 6-9. Previous: 26th. New York Jets. 23. team

Recap: It wasn’t pretty, but the Jets played spoilers in Week 16 and pulled out a hard-fought victory over the Steelers. After watching their early 10-0 lead vanish, the Jets scored six points the rest of the way and shut down the Steelers completely to earn a 16-10 win.

Outlook: The win doesn’t do much for the Jets, other than to help ensure that Adam Gase has a better chance of returning for a second season. At this point that’s probably inevitable, unless Gase gets into a fist fight with Sam Darnold on the sideline in Week 17. The Jets will finish off yet another disappointing season with a road game against the Bills.
