NFL Power Rankings, Week 17: Eagles rise, Seahawks fall, Titans stay put
Recap: The Giants’ offense was rolling early on against the Redskins, with Big Blue taking a 28-14 lead into the second half. The Redskins would make this a game in the final two quarters though, and forced the game into overtime tied at 35. The G-Men didn’t waste any time in the extra frame and scored on the opening possession to win 41-35.
Outlook: This is one of the few times in which a win is actually a loss. With Big Blue’s win in Week 16, the Giants will now move down on the draft board to No. 4 and could miss out on prized Ohio State pass-rusher, Chase Young. The Giants will host the Eagles in Week 17.
Recap: Gardner Minshew had perhaps his worst game as a pro in Week 16 after completing just 13-of-31 passes in a losing effort against the Falcons. The Jags predictably fell behind 14-0 and were never able to recover.
Outlook: Somehow, the Jaguars are actually considering keeping Doug Marrone and David Caldwell around after this season despite the firing of Tom Coughlin, according to a report. I’m not sure how that is even a consideration given how disappointing this season has been and how clearly obvious it is that this team has given up. Jacksonville will mercifully see its season come to an end against the Colts in Week 17.
