While some Tennessee Titans were obvious snubs from the 2020 NFL Pro Bowl team, Pro Football Focus attempted to re-do everything and get it right.

Pro Football Focus is out here doing the right thing and re-doing the 2020 NFL Pro Bowl teams after the popularity contest that is the selection of those teams produced some horrid snubs all around the NFL, some of which came from the Tennessee Titans.

In all, two Titans were selected to the actual Pro Bowl team: running back Derrick Henry and punter Brett Kern.

Six Titans were chosen as alternates: quarterback Ryan Tannehill, left guard Rodger Saffold, safety Kevin Byard, cornerback Logan Ryan, defensive lineman Jurrell Casey and long snapper Beau Brinkley.

While the selections of Henry and Kern were absolutely correct, there were other Titans who should have made the initial Pro Bowl cut, like Ryan, Byard and center Ben Jones

Well, PFF made its own Pro Bowl selections based on their grading system and the highest-graded players from each position group, knowing full well what a joke the voting process is.

Four Titans players made PFF’s Pro Bowl team: Tannehill, Kern, wide receiver A.J. Brown and center Ben Jones.

We’re still not happy that PFF left off Byard, Ryan and Henry, and even a guy like outside linebacker Harold Landry deserves a spot — but at least Jones, Tannehill and Brown got some recognition for how great they have played this season.

As we pointed out earlier, Jones made PFF’s list of the top 25 offensive linemen this season. Brown has exploded of late with three 100-yard games in his last four contests, he leads all rookie receivers in yards, and he’s just 107 yards away from 1,000. Tannehill has led the Titans to a 6-2 mark since taking over as the starter and is in the midst of the best year of his career.

Of course, nobody cares about the Pro Bowl game itself, but the honor of being chosen to the team still stands for players. Hopefully the NFL can figure out a way to fix the process and turn it from a popularity contest to one that has actual meaning.
