Loser No. 3: Ryan Succop

Once again, kicking struggles arguably were a big part of the Titans’ losing a game.

Ryan Succop had his first quarter field goal blocked by former Titans defensive lineman Angelo Blackson, and is now 1-of-6 on field goals this season.

While you could blame the offensive line for not blocking well enough on the kick, Succop did himself no favors, as the kick’s trajectory was just not very high.

Part of the reason Mike Vrabel may have decided to run a fake in the second quarter as opposed to trying what would have been at 54-yard field goal may be due to his mistrust in Succop to make the kick, which is just not a good sign at all.

Succop has been dealing with a knee injury that kept him out for the first half of the season, and at this point, I would be shocked if Succop was on the Titans’ active roster past this week.

I wrote an article during the week suggesting this, but now, with a missed field goal being the difference in the game, the Titans can no longer afford to allow a kicker to be the reason they miss out on the playoffs.

Whether it’s onto IR or onto waivers by way of being released, Succop needs to go.
