Winner No. 2: Jonnu Smith

If there were any doubts about Jonnu Smith‘s big play ability, they were all but answered after today.

Smith accounted for 117 yards on six total touches, including a 57-yard run on the opening play of the fourth quarter to setup a game-tying touchdown.

He also showed hustle in a big-time situation, as he made a touchdown-saving tackle to prevent a pick-six early in the second quarter. The Texans would eventually score anyways, but the fact that Smith put in that effort was remarkably impressive. I just hope that he does not have to continuously make those kinds of plays the rest of the time that he is on the team.

Smith was making big plays on offense all game, accounting for multiple first downs throughout, and it’s beginning to look like he is ready to take on the full-time starting tight end position beyond this season.
