Loser No. 1: Mike Vrabel

Head coach Mike Vrabel has eluded my criticism over the past few weeks, but this week, he’s getting the smoke.

On a fourth-and-10 late in the second quarter at the Texans’ 37-yard line, Vrabel yet again made another insanely asinine decision to run a fake punt with the team down 14-0.

I personally don’t have an issue with the decision to go for it considering the fact that our field goal situation has been horrible this season, but if the Titans really wanted to go for it that badly, they should have just lined up their offense to go for it in that situation. Instead, Brett Kern threw an unimposing pass to Dane Cruikshank which was broken up by Lonnie Johnson Jr.

For the most part, these types of decisions have not panned out well for the Titans so far this season, so the fact that Vrabel decided to try it again, especially against a team that felt the wrath of a Titans’ special teams fake last season, is beyond me.

Vrabel very clearly got out coached overall, but this moment in the game really stuck out to me.
