22. Carolina Panthers (5-9)

Recap: Despite their season already being over, the Panthers showed some fight late in a losing effort on Sunday. Trailing 30-10 in the fourth quarter, Carolina orchestrated two touchdown drives to bring their deficit to within six, but simply couldn’t make one last stop to get a chance to take the lead after.

Outlook: After having fired Ron Rivera a few weeks back, there are major changes coming in Carolina. Kyle Allen hasn’t kept up his hot start, which could open the door to Cam Newton returning in 2020. The Panthers hit the road to take on the Colts in their second-to-last game of the season.

21. Atlanta Falcons (5-9)

Recap: With absolutely nothing to play for other than pride, the Falcons played spoiler in Week 15 and stunned the 49ers with 19 fourth quarter points to pull off a major upset that sent San Fran to second place in the NFC West and out of the top spot in the conference.

Outlook: It remains to be seen if this kind of win can save Dan Quinn’s job, but if I was a betting man, I would say no. The Falcons are still underachieving badly this season and are set to miss the playoffs once again. Atlanta will welcome the Jaguars in Week 16.
