Optimism: Titans’ recent success at Nissan Stadium vs. Texans

In the last three meetings between the Texans and Titans at Nissan Stadium, Tennessee has been victorious in each and the Texans haven’t had much offensive success. In Week 7 of 2016, the Titans squeaked one out 24-17. In Week 13 of 2017, Tennessee won 24-13, and in Week 2 of 2018 the Titans won another close one, 20-17.

The common denominator there is that the Titans always play the Texans tough at home the last few years and haven’t surrendered more than 17 points in each of the last three games. Of course, the Titans’ offense hasn’t exactly dominated in those games, but this isn’t the same old Titans offense anymore.

Adding to all that, the Titans have been hot at home with four wins in their last four games at Nissan Stadium after dropping their first two contests of the season at home.

If the Titans can continue their offensive success against a vulnerable defense and even sniff the kind of defense they have played at home against the Texans in recent years, there’s a very good chance Tennessee will walk away with a win on Sunday.
