Jon Robinson: Executive of the Year

I have been on the Jon Robinson train for a long time, even last year when people were starting to get concerned and incorrectly look at him as part of the problem.

Certainly there were other people that agreed with me and thought that the team was in good hands entering the season, but for a lot of people this year was going to be huge for how he was perceived by the fan base.

So this offseason with the Titans hosting the draft and with several big moves being made, everyone was curious to see how much better the team could get. And then they went 2-4 in the first six games and everyone started to panic.

Between then and now, people haven’t talked a lot about it but there were so many great moves by Jon Robinson that all seemed to shine once the Titans went on this win streak and I don’t think anyone has summed it up better than this thread from Mike Herndon:

There are other moves that didn’t even make this list like:

-Extending Kevin Byard before the season to keep it from being any sort of distraction or hurting team chemistry.

-Trading for Reggie Gilbert who should give the Titans good EDGE depth for cheap until 2020 season is over and then maybe even longer.

-Re-signing Tye Smith and keeping him close to the team. If you missed it, Smith has two forced fumbles and he returned the field goal blocked by Dane Cruikshank for a touchdown.
