Concern: Titans’ secondary injuries

The Titans have been ravaged by injuries to their secondary. It all started after the Week 9 loss to the Carolina Panthers when Malcolm Butler was placed on injured reserve with a wrist injury.

Then, his replacement, LeShaun Sims, suffered an ankle injury that kept him out of the Week 13 game against the Colts. And, during that game, the Titans lost Adoree’ Jackson after just 15 snaps with a knee injury. The statuses of both Jackson and Sims remain up in the air at the moment.

While it was good news that the Titans claimed former Arizona Cardinals corner Tramaine Brock off waivers to help fill a dire need, it also might indicate that the injuries to Jackson and/or Sims could be more serious than we would hope.

Brock has been a solid corner this season, earning the top Pro Football Focus coverage grade for the Cardinals even with Patrick Peterson on the team, but it could take some time for him to get acclimated to Tennessee’s defense before he can make a real impact.

The Raiders are in the top half of the league in passing offense (No. 15), so a depleted secondary for the Titans is obviously a concern.
