The Titans have some demons to exorcise in Week 13, and I think this is finally the week they get it done and win a big game over the Colts.
Tennessee has been playing as one of the hottest teams in the NFL the past five weeks —particularly on offense — with four wins in its last five games. Meanwhile, the Colts have been struggling to score points and lost three of their last four.
Even in the first matchup between these two teams, the Colts didn’t have much success on offense, but the Titans were even worse, totaling just 17 points in the losing effort. It also took a huge missed field goal by Cairo Santos to help put Indy over the top.
This is a very different Tennessee team on offense now.
While I have enough respect for the Colts defense to say the Titans won’t be dropping 42 like they did last week, I think Ryan Tannehill and a steadily improving offensive line is enough of an upgrade to create a different result than that of Week 2.
With the Colts missing a ton of talent on the offensive side of the ball, Jacoby Brissett will struggle to move the rock against a stout Tennessee defense that will make sure to focus on stopping the run in order to force Indy’s signal-caller to beat it without much experience in the receiving corps.
Just like he did last time, Derrick Henry will find success running the ball (5.5 yards per carry in Week 2), Tannehill will thrive off of that, and the Titans will emerge victorious in Week 13 to keep their playoff hopes going in the right direction.
Final score prediction: Titans 24, Colts 17
