28. New York Jets

Recap: In case you were getting hopeful that the Jets were going to finish the season strong or (more likely) if you were streaming Jets players in fantasy football, sorry to disappoint you. Sam Darnold and company laid an egg despite the fact that Le’Veon Bell was underutilized but productive and Anderson broke 100 yards.

Outlook: The Jets are set up to fail from the top down and I really don’t know what they are going to do going forward. A bad OL and front seven with a QB under some heavy (and deserved) scrutiny, that is a recipe for failure and that isn’t even taking into consideration the coach, front office or some bad contracts.

27. Detroit Lions

Recap: The Lions have to do better winning the individual matchups, specifically on defense, but really when you are down to your third QB on a short week I can’t fault you too much for a one possession loss to a division rival.

Still, defensively this team just doesn’t look like one that is coached by the Matt Patricia we saw in New England which is a big problem because it likely means that Bill Belichick had a lot to do with the positives we saw from him.

Outlook: I don’t know if the Lions will be any good for the rest of the season, but you have to keep Matt Stafford healthy if you are the owner or the GM of this team. If you end up firing the coaching staff, fine but don’t let your QB lose years off of his career by returning for a lost season.
