Tennessee Titans running back Derrick Henry clarified the reason for him shaking his head before the Dennis Kelly touchdown play in Week 12.

On Monday, a video surfaced of Tennessee Titans running back Derrick Henry shaking his head when breaking the huddle prior to the touchdown pass from quarterback Ryan Tannehill to tackle Dennis Kelly during the Week 12 win over the Jacksonville Jaguars.

The video, which was shared by Justin Beasley of WSMV News 4 Nashville, drew a reaction from Henry, who denied being upset with the play call.

So, what exactly was going through Henry’s head that made him do that?

He explained on Thursday when he was asked about it, per Jim Wyatt of Titans Online.

"“So, the play before we got the pass interference when I threw the pass and all week me and Jonnu, we’ve been practicing that pass and I’ve been throwing it perfect. So when I threw the pass, I was like, in that moment I’m like ‘how did I miss that damn pass?’That’s how he caught me so, I was not mad about the play. We were throwing it to Quessenberry when we scored, so when I knew we called that play I knew we were going to score. That was a moment of me checking myself, it was nothing about play calling so… that’ll never happen, I’ve never been that type of player so I wanted to clear that up.”"

So, there we have it from the man himself.

Henry was still thinking about the play before in which he threw a pass to tight end Jonnu Smith that drew a pass interference flag, setting the Titans up on the one-yard line. As it turns out, Henry was just mad that he didn’t throw a better pass.

Despite missing out on the opportunity to score on that particular play, Henry still found plenty of production in the Week 12 win.

The Alabama product finished with 159 rushing yards and two scores, one of which was a 74-yard run that had us remembering his 99-yard score in Week 14 of last season, which also came against the Jaguars.

In fact, Henry was so good that someone changed the Jaguars’ Wikipedia page and named him the owner of the team. At this point, I’d say that’s pretty accurate.
