Tennessee Titans quarterback Marcus Mariota got roasted during a live news report by a local television station in Nashville.

It has been a rough year for Tennessee Titans quarterback, Marcus Mariota.

Not only has he lost his job as the team’s starter to quarterback Ryan Tannehill, but now he’s getting roasted live on air by a Nashville television station.

WSMV News4 in Nashville was doing a live report talking about cooking turkey for Thanksgiving, and somehow both the reporter and anchors in the studio found a way to roast Mariota in the process.

Take a look.

Ouch.

Mariota started the first six games of the 2019 season and compiled a 2-4 record while seeing both himself and the team around him struggle.

Midway through the Week 6 game against the Denver Broncos with the Titans in the midst of getting shut out and Mariota struggling mightily, Tannehill, whom Tennessee traded for during the offseason as an insurance policy, was inserted into the game.

Since then, Tannehill has made five starts and the Titans are 4-1 in those games, reviving their once distant playoff hopes. Now, it looks as though Tannehill is working his way to a new contract with the Titans, while Mariota is likely on his way out of Nashville in 2020 via free agency.

There’s going to be a big sect of fans who have a problem with this clip.

Mariota has a very loyal following of fans for various reasons, whether it be because of the things he accomplished in college with Oregon, and/or for some of the memorable moments he created as a Titan.

Adding to that, Mariota has been the consummate professional since losing the starting job, and he’s just an all-around nice guy who has never created problems off the field for his team.

Of course, being nice doesn’t get you anywhere in the NFL if you aren’t winning games, but you’d think it would at least help Mariota to avoid taking shots like this one. Clearly that is not the case.
