Picks 1-5

1. Cincinnati Bengals: Joe Burrow QB, LSU

-The Bengals are incredibly lucky to be in this situation, which sounds weird when you talk about a team drafting first overall with no wins. Still, to land a quarterback with very few flaws and the potential to be a great quarterback sooner rather than later is very lucky.

With QBs dropping like flies in the NFL and in college, you have to be excited about landing a player that is about to potentially win a ring and the Heisman in the same year.

2. New York Giants: Chase Young EDGE, Ohio State

-I mean, what do you need to know about Young that you don’t already know. He is a truly outstanding player that seemingly can’t be stopped by anyone at the college level, like Jadeveon Clowney‘s power with Myles Garrett‘s pass rushing ability.

3. Miami Dolphins: Justin Herbert QB, Oregon

-The Miami Dolphins need a QB desperately and they were in love with Herbert in 2018 before he decided to stay for his final year in Oregon.

Tua is injured and a question mark and Herbert is the next man up, probably offering the best combination of tools and polish while not having a seemingly high bust rate like other quarterbacks we will talk about later.

Miami is going to do everything they can this offseason to get some heavy hitters on the roster with their free agency money and the first of the three first round picks for the Dolphins is at the most important position. It isn’t ideal, but it fits.

4. Washington Redskins: Andrew Thomas OT, Georgia

-I think Thomas has the slight edge on Wirfs right now because of his experience vs some of the best pass rushers at the college level but honestly I could be persuaded either way. No matter what, I think he is a top talent at offensive tackle and they need to protect Dwayne Haskins.

5. Denver Broncos: Tristan Wirfs OT, Iowa

-Worth a top-5 pick and being mentioned as potentially the best OT in the draft, Wirfs is going to be good and giving Mike Munchak an athletic player with his sort of upside feels like a dream situation for everyone involved.
