Winner No. 5: Daren Bates

Lost in the huge game for the Titans offense was a big play made by special teams veteran Daren Bates.

After the Titans’ third touchdown of the game, Bates flew in on the ensuing kickoff and laid a big hit on Jaguars return specialist Michael Walker, popping the football loose.

After a scramble for the football, it was Bates who recovered his own forced fumble, putting the Titans at the Jaguars’ seven-yard line, setting up Henry’s second touchdown run of the game.

It is easy for plays like this to fall through the cracks when your offense scores six touchdowns, but had it not been for Bates, this game may not have turned into the blowout that it eventually was.

Special teams players very rarely get the credit that they deserve, but considering this is now the second game in a row that a special teams play loomed large in the Titans favor, I’m sure this team definitely has big love for their special teams unit right now.
