Loser No. 1: Marcus Mariota

With the Titans holding an insurmountable lead with under four minutes to go, a fair amount of Titans fans were expecting Marcus Mariota to enter the game in relief of Tannehill. However, that did not pan out, as Mariota remained on the sidelines with his helmet on as Tannehill remained on the field for the final two drives of the game.

If that is not an indication that the Titans do not have Mariota in their future plans, I don’t know what will short of the Titans flat out releasing him before the season’s end.

Mariota definitely deserves to be commended for keeping his head up and not feeling sorry for himself in this situation. He has been super supportive of Tannehill as the team’s starting quarterback, and he definitely deserves another shot at being a starter elsewhere in 2020.

It’s unfortunate how things ended up for Mariota in Nashville, but with the talent he has and the need for a quarterback next year obvious for many teams, he could definitely find himself a job somewhere else next year.
