Free agent quarterbacks

In order of snap count, here are the potential starting quarterbacks scheduled to hit free agency:

1. Jameis Winston (assumed retained by Tampa Bay Buccaneers)

2. Dak Prescott (assumed retained by Dallas Cowboys)

3. Philip Rivers (S)

4. Tom Brady (S)

5. Case Keenum

6. Teddy Bridgewater (S)

7. Marcus Mariota

8. Ryan Tannehill (probably an S)

On top of that, here are the potential cuts/trades:

9. Alex Smith

10. Cam Newton (S)

11. Nick Foles (S)

12. Andy Dalton

13. Mitchell Trubisky

Now, obviously some of those players are going to be backups or lower end starters who are supplemented by rookies as either the short or long term plan. But I think the players with an “S” listed next to them are potential starters in 2020 or at least players you don’t actively try to replace from day 1.

Going back to the second slide, that should fill the need of every team that needs a quarterback in free agency. But, there are going to be teams that go after quarterbacks in this draft class especially.

Let’s look at those names.
