Con: Kapernick hasn’t played in three years

Even if you want to talk about all the success Colin Kaepernick had during his early years in San Fran, that was still a long time ago.

The Super Bowl trip we talked about? That was six years ago. His second NFC Championship Game appearance? That was five years ago.

Since he opted out of his contract with the Niners following the 2016 season, Kaepernick hasn’t played a single snap in the NFL. Now, chalk the reasons for that happening up to whatever you want, it’s just the reality of the situation.

Sure, we can look at his workout and see some positive reviews, but until he steps on a football field in a regular season game, there’s simply no telling how it will go and if he still has the same speed that made him a top-notch athlete at his position.

Adding to that, his last few years in San Fran and overall career stats leave a lot to be desired, so I’m not really sure he’s any better than some of the free agent starting options the Titans will have in 2020, Tannehill included.
