Who should be out: Derwin James

This obviously isn’t a one-to-one situation, but the fact is that we have only seen Derwin James play in 16 games so far. I get that he has been very good in those snaps, but the fact is that he doesn’t have the body of work or the elite year that warrants a spot on this list.

He was an All-Pro and that is great, but I also think a lot of that had to do with the visibility of the L.A. Chargers as well as certain people in the media needing to justify their effusive praise for the former Florida State safety.

Look, it sounds like I am saying he is bad. He isn’t, he is very good at what he is being asked to do in L.A., but in the box he was basically used like Logan Ryan was and his coverage ability isn’t elite. So ask yourself if you think Logan Ryan would have made this list? No, he would have been snubbed.

Who should be in: Jayon Brown

In case you don’t know my brand, Jayon Brown is what people think Myles Jack is so when they praise him know that they are really praising the idea of what they thought Jack could be, not what he actually is.

When people talk about new age linebackers and these guys that can cover, blitz and make plays in the running game, they are talking about Jayon Brown they just don’t know it.
