Who should be out: Jaylon Smith

If you have been paying attention to Dallas Cowboys football or their fans, you will probably notice that people are not very happy with Smith’s performance and rightfully so.

For the most part, that defense as a whole has been the weak link of the team but that is highlighted by the two most important and visible players in Jaylon Smith and Leighton Vander Esch.

Smith is living off of reputation alone at this point and while I expect him to bounce back, this is not the year to push Smith into the top-25 conversation.

Who should be in: Rashaan Evans

On the other hand, Rashaan Evans took over the starting LB job at the end of last year and he has been nothing short of great.

While his numbers may not always show it, Evans is fantastic at blowing up run plays by either meeting the running back in the whole or taking on blockers so that someone else can come make a play. He is the epitome of a team player who makes the defensive unit better instead of someone just trying to grab stats.

If you need proof of just how good he is, go watch every third or fourth and short this season vs the Titans defense and see at how many of those shut downs are directly or indirectly caused by Evans blowing a play up.
