Jaguars vs. Colts
Luckily for the Titans, they get to spend their weekend watching their next two opponents play each other in the Jacksonville Jaguars and Indianapolis Colts.
The Jaguars are sending rookie phenom Gardner Minshew back to the bench after a shoddy London game against the Texans. With Nick Foles healthy enough to return to the lineup, it will be interesting to see how the offense transforms around him.
The Jaguars gave a massive contract to Foles during the offseason and want to see what he has to offer. In the half game he played this season, he was connecting with his receivers and kept the ball moving against a subpar Chiefs defense.
Can Foles bring some of the consistency that was missing with Minshew under center? Minshew Mania was real this season, particularly after some late-game heroics that he put together. If Foles looks mediocre, Jags fans will be quick to turn on him.
The Colts are also returning their starter in Jacoby Brissett after hurting his knee early in the Steelers game two weeks ago. Backup Brian Hoyer looked decent in finishing up against the Steelers, but horrendous against the Dolphins. After going 0-2 the last two weeks, the Colts’ playoff hopes have taken a real hit.
Both teams are within a game of the wild card spot and still in the division hunt. If either of these teams lose, then they will struggle to regain momentum in the playoff run in a highly-competitive AFC South.
Fans can enjoy seeing one of these teams’ hopes get dashed prior to their game against the Titans.
