Corey Davis

When watching Titans wide receiver Corey Davis in camp, he was dominant and it looked as though he was going to take that next step in his career — and then the 2019 season happened.

Davis has been underwhelming to say the least. He’s second on the team in receiving yards with 374 behind fellow wideout A.J. Brown and has only found the end zone twice this season.

In Davis’ defense, this isn’t all his fault. Yes, he does need to do a better job getting open in some instances, but the passing attack of the Titans was a mess during the first half of the season.

And, while quarterback Ryan Tannehill has certainly stabilized it, Davis still isn’t producing, so the Titans’ offensive ineptitude can’t be totally blamed for his lack of success. He was also forced to miss the Week 10 game against the Kansas City Chiefs because of a hip injury.

If there’s one thing we can point to as a positive with Davis it’s that he does the little things well, particularly blocking.

There’s still time for Davis to recover and finish the season strong, however he’s on pace to fall short of the career-high 891 receiving yards he totaled in 2018. That would be an unfortunate step in the wrong direction for the No. 5 overall pick.
