Miami Dolphins

Despite ruining their tank with two wins in a row, the Dolphins still find themselves in a solid position to nab a top quarterback in the 2020 NFL Draft.

If the draft were today, the Dolphins would own the No. 5 overall pick, but thankfully for them, there’s only one team in front of the Dolphins that will be looking for a quarterback.

One of the teams in front of them, the Cincinnati Bengals, will certainly take a quarterback. The other three teams, the Washington Redskins, New York Giants and New York Jets, have all drafted a quarterback in recent years and likely won’t be looking for one.

And, if the Dolphins need to trade up, they have an army of picks to get that done.

Not to mention, veteran quarterback Ryan Fitzpatrick will still be under contract in 2020 and the team has seemingly given up on Josh Rosen. If the Dolphins need a veteran next season, Fitzpatrick will likely be the guy to either start or mentor the incoming QB.

This is good news for Marcus Mariota, anyway. The Dolphins are a rebuilding team that won’t have much support around him, putting him in a bad position if he hopes to play well in 2020.
