Time to process and prepare

After that incredible, heart-pounding victory over an elite team in the Chiefs, I think everyone in Titans nation could use some extra time to process and come down from it. Hell, my heart rate only returned to normal in the last few days.

It was an emotional win to say the least, and one that nobody expected the Titans to achieve. Now, the bye week gives the players time to let it process also, which enables them to come down off it and re-focus for the game ahead against Jacksonville.

Furthermore, the Titans’ coaching staff will have an extra week to prepare for a Jaguars team that dominated them in Week 3 and held the offense to just seven points. The focus for the game plan in Week 12 should be how Tennessee is going to stop a Jags pass-rush that sacked Marcus Mariota nine times in the first meeting.

With the way the Titans’ offensive line has performed in pass protection this year, the coaching staff will need every second possible to prepare so that doesn’t happen again. Hopefully the extra time the bye week affords will help the Titans figure things out in that area.
