Which Tennessee Titans player has the highest overall grade in 2019, according to Pro Football Focus?

If you were going to guess who the Tennessee Titans’ highest-graded player by Pro Football Focus is after 10 weeks, who would it be?

Chances are you’d be thinking safety Kevin Byard or cornerback Logan Ryan, both of whom have been standouts and are having sensational seasons for the Titans. Maybe it’s running back Derrick Henry or edge rusher Harold Landry?

Well, if you thought it was any of those four guys, you’d be wrong.

In fact, the Titans’ highest-graded player this season is none other than defensive lineman DaQuan Jones.

According to PFF, Jones’ 84.1 overall grade is the highest of any Tennessee player who has been on the field for at least 200 snaps in 2019 (which is probably why the GOAT Brett Kern didn’t make this list).

"Jones has earned an 84.1 overall grade, an 80.6 run-defense grade and a 72.5 pass-rush grade in Weeks 1-10. He hasn’t wowed in any one area of the game, but he’s been very consistent and balanced across the board."

It might have been tough to guess it was Jones, but that’s understandable. As PFF notes, Jones hasn’t been overly dominant in any one area, but his consistency and doing the little things on a play-by-play basis earns him this mark.

And just by watching the games this season, Jones is regularly making an impact upfront against both the pass and run. The 2019 campaign has been by far his best in the NFL, and on a defensive line that has dealt with injuries this season, Jones has been the constant.

Before the start of the 2019 season, it wasn’t known if Jones would even hold on to his starting spot. Well, the big man has answered the bell in a big way and is one-third of an impressive defensive line that also features Jurrell Casey and Jeffery Simmons.

If the Titans can keep Casey and Simmons healthy the rest of the way, Tennessee will be a force to be reckoned with along the defensive front.
