Loser No. 2: Ryan Succop

Since returning from IR ahead of last week’s loss to the Panthers, Ryan Succop has not looked like what he was in the past. After missing three field goals last week, he did not attempt a field goal on Sunday as the Titans’ offense was able to get into the end zone five times.

He did, however, miss an extra point, and struggled to get kickoffs into the end zone, as only two of his six kickoffs were touchbacks, though the final kickoff was a squib kick.

In Succop’s absence, the Titans were already dealing with kicker struggles, as Cairo Santos was never reliable for the team, going 4-of-9 on field goals, missing a critical kick in Week 2’s loss to the Colts, and missing four attempts against the Buffalo Bills, costing the team that game as well.

Cody Parkey was a bit better, making all three of his attempts for the Titans, but did have a reoccurence of his habit of “doinking” kicks off of the uprights on an extra point against the Chargers a few weeks ago.

Succop’s missed extra point ended up not costing the team, as Ryan Tannehill was able to run in for a two-point conversion after the Titans’ go-ahead touchdown, which gave the Titans a three-point lead that they would have had anyways had Succop made that kick.

That being said, Succop seems like he’s still injured or just not right, and if that’s the case, the Titans need to shelve him for the season before he actually costs them another game.
