24. Denver Broncos (3-6) – BYE

Recap: The Denver Broncos will enjoy a bye this week after being the latest team to take advantage of the dysfunctional mess that is the Cleveland Browns. Without the services of Joe Flacco, the Broncos turned to backup quarterback Brandon Allen, who was able to throw for 193 yards and two scores in the winning effort. Allen had plenty of help, though, as Denver’s rushing attack averaged over six yards per tote, led by Phillip Lindsay‘s nine carries for 92 yards.

Outlook: Allen will remain the Broncos’ starter for the rest of the season after Flacco was placed on injured reserve with a herniated disc in his neck. After the veteran quarterback criticized his coaches for playing too conservatively in Week 8, it would be a surprise to see him behind center for the Broncos next season. When the Broncos return from their bye in Week 11, they’ll have a difficult matchup with the Minnesota Vikings.
