3. Protect Ryan Tannehill

Protecting the quarterback has been an absolute struggle for the Titans’ offensive line this season to say the very least. This past Sunday was no different, as Ryan Tannehill was sacked four times, and hit five other times.

While the Titans’ lead in sacks allowed has dwindled, they still have allowed the most sacks in the league with 38.

Although the Chiefs’ pass defense is middle of the pack as far as yards per game goes, they have proven to be good at getting to the quarterback, as they rank seventh in the league in sacks with 26, and five different players, lead by Emmanuel Ogbah, have at least three sacks on the season (Ogbah has 4.5).

In order for the Titans to have any shot at moving the football consistently in this game, Tannehill needs protection. We’ve preached it all season long, whether it was Tannehill or Marcus Mariota at quarterback, but with this game pretty much a must-win, this offensive line needs to finally step up to the plate this week, or the Titans’ already slim playoff hopes will diminish even further.
