Picks 1-8

1. Miami Dolphins: Joe Burrow QB, LSU

-Miami have a few options, but in the end you take the best QB in the draft and you don’t look back.

2. Atlanta Falcons: Chase Young EDGE, Ohio State

-The Falcons have a QB you can win with, some talent on the OL, star WRs, and a dominant DT. A coaching change has to happen obviously and if Atlanta makes the right choice then they should instantly be better and landing a blue-chip EDGE in the process is a huge win.

3. New York Jets: Andrew Thomas OT, Georgia

-Splitting hairs for the top OT, Thomas gets the nod because I think he has had the tougher slate of EDGE rushers between the two top guys.

4. Cincinnati Bengals: Tua Tagovailoa QB, Alabama

-You could argue that he is the top QB in the class, but what concerns me are ankle injuries and the habit of Alabama prospects not doing quite as well at the next level as they did in college due to elite coaching, supporting cast and training at the college level. He is just QB1, but he is probably more like QB1B.

5. Washington Redskins: Henry Ruggs WR, Alabama

-Not a top-2 WR in this class, but still an outstanding WR and a WR1 at the NFL level. He and Terry McLaurin will make life so much easier for Dwayne Haskins, like a better version of Parris Campbell and…well Terry McLaurin did for him in college.

6. Arizona Cardinals: Tristan Wirfs OT, Iowa

-Great RT and LT prospect that should be the best offensive lineman the Arizona Cardinals have had in a decade.

7. New York Giants: Jeffrey Okudah CB, Ohio State

-Giants have to go BPA defense here and Okudah fits the bill.

8.  Oakland Raiders (via Chicago Bears): Isaiah Simmons LB/S, Clemson

Mike Mayock has had mixed results from the last Clemson defender he took in the first round, but I don’t think that will keep him from going back to the well for a player like Simmons.
