2. Fire up the tractor for 15-plus carries
Conversely, the Titans must get their own run game going in this one, and the stage is set for a good day from RB Derrick Henry. The Titans are 13-5 when giving Henry 15+ carries in a game, and the Panthers rush defense ranks 27th, allowing 135 yards per game on the ground.
While QB Ryan Tannehill has been great thus far for the Titans, this game needs to be in Henry’s hands. The Panthers have the second-best sack percentage per pass attempt (11.49%) and the fourth-best interception rate at 3.83 percent.
Why make things harder than they need to be? Not only are the Panthers giving up yardage like it’s their job, but they have also allowed 12 rushing touchdowns to opposing backs this year (most in the NFL).
Start your engines, Titans fans. If Henry can get going early and often, the Titans should be able to do some damage and, at the very least, keep this game close.
