Halfway through the regular season, the Tennessee Titans are within striking distance. That’s all they can ask for, after all, they did make a change at the most critical position in the game. QB Ryan Tannehill has done what is expected from a starting quarterback—keep them in it. In Carolina, Tannehill will have a more difficult test than he’s seen the past two weeks. The Panthers are tied with the Titans for the league lead in interceptions by defensive backs, and they also boast a top-five pass rush.
Panthers RB Christian McCaffery will hamper Titans’ defensive coordinator Dean Pees’ ability to bring exotic pressure, and it will be a prove-it game for the Titans’ young linebacking corps. If they have any hope of slowing down McCaffery, they’ll need to stick to old school football fundamentals and tackle well.
Take the under, and expect a low scoring game between two great defenses. I believe the Titans secondary will give Panthers’ QB Kyle Allen a tough time, and the Titans will start to make their playoff push.
