23. Cleveland Browns

Recap: The Browns played one of their most competitive games in a while looking better on both offense and defense that in recent weeks. However, that wasn’t enough to beat the Denver Broncos with their stud young QB Brandon Allen…wait, really?

Really the defense only allowed a few big plays and the offense just really failed to capitalize on the chances that they were given. All in all the Browns and Broncos looked like teams that would probably split a 10-game series, but today the Browns just couldn’t come up with as many plays as the Broncos.

Outlook: For all the optimism above, I still think you kinda have to nuke this thing at the end of the season. The offense has regressed badly and they are in danger of ruining Baker Mayfield‘s career while the defense makes plays but isn’t consistent enough to be a defining feature for Cleveland.

Every team wants Lincoln Riley to be their next head coach, but the Browns should be begging him to leave Oklahoma and Baker Mayfield may be enough of an influence for him to strongly consider.
