At the midseason point of the 2019 NFL campaign, we’re going to highlight some studs and duds for the Tennessee Titans after eight games.

I cannot believe it, but we are here at the midway point of the 2019 NFL season as we enter Week 9. The Tennessee Titans have stayed true to their past seasons by posting a very up-and-down 4-4 record. While the Titans entered with modest expectations, they exploded onto the scene week one against the Cleveland Browns with a 43-13 win.

After a couple of division losses to the Colts and the Jaguars, the Titans responded with a win against the Falcons. Despite being 2-2 at the quarter-mark of the season, the Titans offense looked anemic with quarterback Marcus Mariota. That continued for the next two weeks against the Bills and the Broncos. The Titans defense did all they could in those two games to keep it competitive, but the Titans offense struggled to score, putting up seven total points combined.

Sitting in last place in the division at 2-4, head coach Mike Vrabel made the decision to shake-up the offense and bring in backup quarterback Ryan Tannehill. The change has been monumental. The Titans have posted two victories in the past two weeks in thrilling games against the Chargers and Buccaneers. The offense looks reinvigorated, while the defense continues to look strong.

The Titans have a tough road ahead of them, with games against the Saints, Chiefs, and Texans remaining. While the Titans should focus on the future, I wanted to take the time to look back at the season thus far and highlight some studs that have helped the team, and some surprising duds that I hope can pick up their play in the second half of the season.
