Defensive Player of the Year: Logan Ryan

On a defense stacked with talent, cornerback Logan Ryan has somehow found a way to stand out above the rest. Ryan is second on the Titans with 3.5 sacks and 51 tackles, leads the team with 11 passes defensed, and is tied for the team lead in interceptions with three.

Whether he has shined in coverage or shown himself to be an elite blitzing corner, Ryan has been doing his thing all over the field in 2019. There is no question that the veteran corner is truly one of the best at his position in the NFL and he is going to get paid in 2020.

Honorable mention: Kevin Byard

Safety Kevin Byard is once again showing himself to be an elite player at his position this season, even though the national media STILL hasn’t caught up to that fact.

Byard is tied for the team lead in picks with three, is top five in tackles and his six passes defensed are the third-most for the Titans. Not to mention, he has even caught a pass from punter Brett Kern on a fake punt this season.

Byard can do it all, as his ability to play in the box and stop the run, as well as his skills in pass coverage, have been on full display. If not for a special performance by Ryan in 2019, he’d likely be this team’s defensive MVP at this point in the season.
