Biggest Surprise: DaQuan Jones

There was some question as to whether or not defensive tackle DaQuan Jones would even earn a starting spot on the defensive line this season, but Jones has continually shown he deserves to be a starter on this team and then some.

As an asset against both the pass and run, Jones’ presence on the interior of the Titans’ defensive line has been a welcomed one, as he’s in the midst of his best season as a pro and is a disruptive force upfront for the Titans.

Jones has earned an elite grade of 84.5 from Pro Football Focus, and he seems to be making multiple great plays on a weekly basis.

Honorable mention: Jeffery Simmons

We all thought defensive lineman Jeffery Simmons was going to be a great player, but I don’t think any of us expected him to come along this quickly.

After returning ahead of schedule, Simmons has made his presence felt already, with one sack and two tackles for loss. When you watch him play, it’s clear opposing offensive linemen are having a tough time just blocking him, often needing help to keep him at bay.

Big Jeff is already a force to be reckoned with, and one can only imagine how much better he’s going to be once he’s fully in game shape.
