1. Ryan Kerrigan, EDGE
There have been whispers and discussion about Ryan Kerrigan so far this year, and I get why a team would want to make a big move for him.
You never want to give away a Hall of Fame talent like Ryan Kerrigan (which he absolutely is) however, the Washington Redskins could get a top-40 pick back from him pretty easily.
Kerrigan is 31 years old and he is in the midst of his worst year, so this may be the one window a team has to actually make a move for him before he bounces back and gets in form again.
Let’s say that the Titans get a steal and land him for a 2nd round pick. This is what a 2020 NFL Draft could look like for the rebuilding Redskins (assuming they also get a 2nd for Trent Williams):
3. Chase Young EDGE, Ohio State (replaces Kerrigan)
40 (Browns): Jonathan Taylor RB, Wisconsin (gives you two threats in the backfield behind a solid OL)
49 (Titans): Jalen Reagor WR, TCU (perfect pairing with Terry McLaurin)
The Titans on the other hand, now would have one of the best pass rushes in the league and if there is ever a point where you can get Ryan Kerrigan, Harold Landry, Jurrell Casey, and Jeffery Simmons on the field all going after the QB, that would be a terrifying sight to behold for QBs. In fact, that doesn’t even have to be a pass rush package, that would be your base defense! Even scarier.
Win-Win.
