Tennessee Titans: What We Learned from Week 8 Victory vs. Buccaneers
1. Adoree’ Jackson is a key part of this secondary
Adoree’ Jackson was inactive for this game after not practicing at all this week due to a foot injury he suffered last week in the victory over the Los Angeles Chargers.
LeShaun Sims played in his place, and got absolutely abused by Mike Evans throughout the game (why Dean Pees had Sims lined up against Evans in the first place is another issue entirely).
Evans went for 198 yards and two touchdowns on 11 catches, and is the first wide receiver to eclipse the 100-plus yard mark against the Titans this season. One could fairly question whether or not he would have been as successful if Jackson had played.
Granted, Evans is one of the better receivers in the league, and has been overshadowed a bit by the breakout season that Chris Godwin has had, but this Titans secondary, usually one of the better units in the league, got embarrassed at the hands of Evans.
