3. New Orleans Saints
Recap: The Saints are good at everything and I don’t think that is hyperbole. There isn’t one thing I can point to that is a real weakness for them or even something that isn’t above average which is why they are so high on this list.
Today, they handled business and grounded the exciting Arizona Cardinals offense making them look very much outclassed. A large part of this was because Drew Brees came back and reminded everyone why it made so much sense to play him when he was healthy instead of giving him a little bit more time to rest.
Outlook: The Saints would be at the top of this list in nearly any other year at this point, however not only are they not the top team, but they aren’t the top team in the NFC. With Drew Brees eventually needing to start thinking about retirement, every season becomes a little bit more important and the Saint seem to be hitting their stride now.
Hopefully for them that doesn’t mean an early fizzle out, but right now you can’t worry about that all focus has to be on the dominance at hand.
